Second RILEM Digital Concrete conferences takes place successfully

The RILEM Digital Concrete conference that was first inaugurated by NCCR Digital Fabrication in 2018, has just completed its second edition, this time hosted remotely by TU Eindhoven.

NCCR researchers had a strong presence at the conference with Robert Flatt and Lex Reiter giving the opening keynote entitled "Setting on demand for digital concrete: Principles, measurements, chemistry and validation" and Ena Lloret-Fritschi delivering a guest lecture on "From Smart Dynamic Casting to a growing family of Digital Casting Systems".

NCCR members were coauthors in two additional invited talks, and five different NCCR research groups were represented in eight different conference presentations and papers. Each NCCR keynote and invited talk comes with an article published in a special issue of Cement and Concrete Research.

The next edition of the RILEM Digital Concrete conference will take place at Loughborough University, UK in 2022 and we are looking forward to seeing the further expansion and development of the field within these two years.
