Flatt
Robert J. Flatt ist seit September 2010 ordentlicher Professor für Physikalische Chemie von Baustoffen an der ETH Zürich, Schweiz. Zuvor war er als Leitender Forscher und Abteilungsleiter für den Bereich Anorganische Chemie in der Forschungsabteilung bei der Sika Technology AG tätig. Dies ist die Forschungsabteilung der Sika AG, einer Schweizer Firma die international im Bereich von Materialien, die für die Abdichtung, das Verbinden, die Dämpfung, die Verstärkung und den Schutz von tragenden Strukturen im Bauwesen und der Industrie genutzt werden, aktiv ist. Bevor er zu Sika stiess, war Robert J. Flatt zweieinhalb Jahre als Postdoktorand an der Princeton University, USA, im Departement für Bau und Umwelt in der Forschungsgruppe von Prof. Georg W. Scherer tätig. Dort untersuchte er im Rahmen von Projekten, die vom Schweizerischen Nationalfonds, dem Lafarge Central Research Laboratory und der Samuell Kress Stiftung unterstützt wurden, die fundamentalen Aspekte von Kristallwachstum in porösen Medien und die Entwicklung von partikelmodifizierten Festigungsmitteln. Robert J. Flatt ist dem NFS Digitale Fabrikation im Juni 2014 als leitender Forscher beigetreten. Seit Sommer 2017 ist er stellvertretender Direktor.
Prof. Flatt joined the NCCR Digital Fabrication in June 2014 as a principal investigator and has been its Deputy Director since summer 2017.
