Siegwart
Roland Siegwart ist Co-Direktor des Wyss Translational Center Zurich und Leiter des Autonomous Systems Lab an der ETH Zürich, Schweiz. Er studierte Maschinenbauingenieurwesen an der ETH Zürich, gründete ein Spin-off Unternehmen, war zehn Jahre lang Professor an der EPF Lausanne, Schweiz, Vizepräsident der ETH Zürich und Gast an der Stanford University und am NASA Ames Forschungszentrum, USA. Er ist und war Koordinator mehrerer europäischer Projekte und ist Mitgründer von einem halben Duzend Spin-off Unternehmen. Er ist IEEE Fellow, Träger des IEEE RAS Inaba Technical Award und Vorstandsmitglied der International Federation of Robotics Research. Er ist im Herausgeberbeirat verschiedener Robotik-Zeitschriften und war Vorsitzender mehrerer Robotik-Konferenzen, darunter IROS 2002, AIM 2007, FSR 2007 und ISRR 2009. Sein Forschungsinteresse gilt der Entwicklung und Steuerung fahrender, laufender und fliegender Roboter, welche in hochgradig komplexen, dynamischen Systemen operieren. Roland Siegwart trat dem NFS Digitale Fabrikation im Jahr 2014 als leitender Forscher bei.
