Gramazio
Fabio Gramazio ist ein Architekt mit vielfältigen Interessen, die vom computerbasierten Entwerfen und der robotischen Fabrikation bis hin zur Entwicklung neuer Materialien reichen. Gemeinsam mit Matthias Kohler gründete er 2000 das Architekturbüro Gramazio Kohler Architects. Seitdem realisierten sie eine Reihe von preisgekrönten Bauwerken. Zu den aktuellen Arbeiten gehört unter anderem das NEST Gebäude der Empa und Eawag, ein modulares Wohn- und Arbeitshaus für nachhaltiges Bauen. In ihrer Forschung an der ETH Zürich bauten sie 2005 das weltweit erste Robotiklabor für nicht-standardisierte Fabrikationsprozesse in der Architektur auf und lancierten damit ein vollkommen neues Forschungsgebiet. Ihre Forschung reicht von prototypischen Installationen im Massstab 1:1 bis hin zum Entwurf von mit Robotern gebauten Hochhäusern. Ihre jüngsten Forschungsbemühungen und theoretischen Konzepte werden im Buch “The Robotic Touch: How robots change architecture” (Park Books, 2014) dargelegt. Fabio Gramazio trat dem NFS Digitale Fabrikation als 2014 als leitender Forscher bei.
