Project 4A: Reflective Action

Project 4A seeks to understand the fundamental work processes, project models, and computational data exchange as it occurs today both in the NCCR DFAB and in current industry models by answering the following questions:

  • What can be learned from the work processes in the NCCR DFAB about transferring basic research into use cases and demonstrators that can be used as a research transfer model in general?
  • How does this relate to the current work processes, collaboration mechanisms and project delivery models used in the Swiss AEC industry?
  • How can we document and learn from the success and failures of current NCCR DFAB design and fabrication processes
  • to prolong the lifespan of objects built using digital fabrication?
  • How do current modes of data exchange help or hinder interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration?

Project 4A comprises the following work packages:

1) Fundamentals and methods - work processes

2) Fundamentals and methods - industry project models

3) Data exchange
