Project 2B: Materials
Much of the research on digital concrete from the material standpoint has been focused primarily on process development, less so on making them work in a robust way, and even less so on important performance metrics related to durability. This project addresses these issues. For example, the researchers investigate the robustness of set-on-demand solutions for digital concrete. Set on demand refers to the ability to control the setting of concrete to enable high vertical building rates, and it is done primarily with aluminate chemistry. The same project is currently demonstrating that this ability is highly dependent on environmental factors such as temperature, and probably also on variations in the material being added.
Project 2B comprises the following work packages
1) Robustness of set-on demand solutions
2) Durability of Digital Concrete
