A Researcher in my Classroom

As part of the project "A Researcher in my Classroom", Ana Anton visited a high school class in Bern. Anas is the lead researcher in 3D concrete printing and currently is printing columns for the Tor Alva. The columns that are 3D printed are calculated with trigonometric functions, which was the current topic of the class in maths lessons. It was a wonderful fit and the students asked so many questions, Ana says after the visit.

To inspire young female students to pursue careers in STEM fields, the National Centres of Competence in Research have launched a campaign featuring women at the heart of research. During the 2022-2023 school year, upper secondary school students will have the opportunity to invite a female researcher into their classroom to share ideas in various fields such as mathematics, materials, linguistics, neuroscience, architecture, chemistry, robotics or artificial intelligence.
