Alumni Valens Frangez: Innovation goes beyond Technology—it takes an Ecosystem
Inspired by the Future of Construction Symposium, where Valens saw how different players in the AEC industry came together to discuss the challenges facing the sector, he made the transition from academia to industry.
Dr. Valens Frangez, an alumnus of the NCCR Digital Fabrication, now works in Innovation and Product Management at the Swiss company Halter Group. His journey reflects his belief that meaningful progress in the AEC industry requires more than just technological advancements—it takes a collaborative ecosystem.
“Innovation is not just about technological innovation, although this is important,” Valens explains. “It takes many supporters in the ecosystem to enable the integration of technological innovation.” He emphasizes that true progress depends on the involvement of multiple stakeholders—researchers, industry professionals, policymakers, and investors—working together to bring innovations from theory to real-world application.
