Digital Concrete 2024
Robert Flatt initiated the Digital Concrete Conference in 2018. At this year's fourth edition in Munich, he and his team from the Chair of Physical Chemistry of Building Materials were on site to present their research. Together with Senior Researcher Timothy Wangler, Robert held a keynote lecture about ‘Aluminate 2K Systems in Digital Concrete: Process, Design, Chemistry and Outlook’. Other NCCR DFAB researchers from the Chair of Physical Chemistry of Building Materials presented their work:
Matnineh Mahmoudi presented her work on the robustness of accelerated 2k digital concrete mixes.
Lucas di Lima gave an insight into the research of his PhD with ‘Durability of 3D printed concrete: performance assessment of a two-component system against water absorption, carbonation, and chloride ingress’.
Seyma Gürel gave insights into her PhD thesis on the scaling of digital concrete production.
Other NCCR DFAB researchers such as Principal Investigator Ena Lloret Fritschi, who gave a plenary lecture entitled ‘The Promise of Digital with Concrete’, and NCCR DFAB alumni Kathrin Dörfler and Norman Hack, who gave the keynote lecture ‘From AM to Architecture: Shaping Future Applications’, were also in attendance.
