Impressions Swiss Robotics Days

Two days full of action: The NCCR Digital Fabrication was on site at the Swiss Robotics Days in Lausanne. Researchers from ETH Zurich and EPFL were on site to inform visitors about the projects in the NCCR DFAB. Representatives of the start-ups MESH and SAEKI Robotics were also present.

One of the highlights was the "HyperHut" (Timber Assembly with Distributed Architectural Robotics, Gramazio Kohler Research) a robotically assembled structure representing a novel application of the design and automatic assembly of interlocking timber connections. The custom-built, high-force remote-controlled robotic clamps that were used in the production for the HyperHut were also displayed.

The event was launched in 2015 by NCCR Robotics. It has become a leading conference for the Swiss robotics industry, bringing together academics, companies and citizens from across the country. For Swiss robotics experts, the event provides an opportunity to meet with peers, exchange ideas, explore new business opportunities and search for promising new collaboration partners. The NCCR DFAB was there for the first time as an exhibitor to seek interaction with a wider robotics audience and to network with other NCCRs.
