Recap: «The Power of Networking» webinar series

In February 2022, a series of webinars for STEM women* on networking took place. The virtual space was used to discuss why virtual networking is important in today's world and how women can go about cultivating online relationships in the right way.

In the first webinar, Dr. Patricia Widmer, Programme Director for Diversity and Management Programs and networking expert, spoke about the importance of networking in personal and professional life. She demonstrated various approaches to building real relationships from online networking. The second webinar was about personal branding, with branding expert Jennifer Walter providing tips, examples, and guides to help participants develop their own brand. In a third webinar, former recruiter and journalist Désirée Klarer introduced different networking cultures and used Swiss culture to explain why networks can be challenging in cross-cultural contexts.

During the webinars, participants had the opportunity to get to know different Swiss networks for (STEM) women in an open online networking fair. Representatives of the networks were invited: Fachfrauen Umwelt, Netzwerk Frau+Sia, usic, Swiss Engineering and many others.

«The Power of Networking» webinars are a joint collaboration between the Swiss Society for Women Engineers (SVIN) and the two NCCRs Digital Fabrication and Automation.
