Alejandro is a research assistant in the Chair of Structural Engineering at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He earned his doctoral degree in 2017 from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). In 2010, he joined as a research assistant in the Chair of Structural Concrete at the School of Civil Engineering (UPM) and was a temporary lecturer at the School of Aeronautics (UPM). Alejandro worked in several Spanish companies (2004-2014) as a structural engineer, supervisor and production manager, and from 2014 to 2021 in Swiss engineering companies (Meichtry & Widmer AG and dsp Ingenieure + Planer AG) as a structural engineer and project manager. Within the NCCR Dfab, he is focused on structural dry-joint connections of 3D concrete-printed components and the efficient integration of reinforcement in columns.
