Dr.
René
Jähne
René Jähne studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Dresden, Germany, and completed his doctorate at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, in the area of material characterisation and -modelling. In his research, he focused on the development of joint-free, high-performance compliant mechanisms. In 2010 towards the end of his doctoral studies, he co-founded a technology start-up. The company is specialised in the development and delivery of innovative, joint-free compliant mechanisms for clients from various industries, such as from medical technology, automation, metrology and precision mechanics, and was awarded by the two Swiss research institutions Empa and ETH Zurich. René Jähne joined the NCCR Digital Fabrication in June 2015 to transfer its research results and technologies to industry and society.
