Heidi
Silvennoinen
Heidi’s research focuses on life cycle assessments in the early design phase, particularly for digitally fabricated buildings and considering material reuse. The goal is to create a software tool that is integrated into the COMPAS framework. This research is conducted jointly with the Chair of Circular Engineering for Architecture, as part of the NCCR in Digital Fabrication.
Heidi has previously worked at the Singapore-ETH Centre, researching the use of semantic web technologies to integrate urban data, as well as for several architectural offices and ArchiFrame, a BIM plugin for designing timber structures. Heidi has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architecture with distinction from Aalto University, with a minor in Computer Science in the former degree. Previously, Heidi also obtained a BA in History from Oxford University.
