Seyma
Gürel
Seyma joined the group of Physical Chemistry of Building Materials as a PhD researcher in July 2020. Her research focuses on scaling up digital concrete fabrication from laboratory to industry, enhancing productivity and sustainability. She investigates the interaction between material and process design, including mixing strategies, power requirements, and acceleration processes, aiming to develop effective strategies for industrial implementation.
In 2018, she received her B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Ozyegin University, Turkey, researching bio-based self-healing mortar and bacteria-amended cement paste rheology. In 2020, she earned her M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Koc University, Turkey, with a thesis on 'Development of Novel High-Entropy Alloys for Biomedical Applications,' specializing in materials science and implants.
