Prof. Dr. Eleni Chatzi

Eleni Chatzi is Associate Professor of Structural Mechanics at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering, ETH Zürich. She obtained her diploma and MSc in Civil Engineering, with honors, from the National Technical University of Athens and her PhD with distinction from Columbia University. In 2010 she became the youngest Assistant Professor at ETH Zurich and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2017. Her research couples novel simulation tools with state-​of the-​art monitoring methodologies for intelligent and data-​driven assessment and diagnostics of engineered systems, with the goal of providing actionable tools able to guide operators and engineers in the management of their assets. She is currently leading the ERC Starting Grant WINDMIL on data-driven condition monitoring of Wind Energy infrastructure.
