Prof. Dr.
Karel
Thoma
Prof. Dr. Karel Thoma is professor of Engineering at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU). His area of research is the static analysis of steel prestressed concrete structures using non-linear finite element and computational analysis. He is a principal at Thoma Bauingenieurberatung AG.
Work Topic
In his research he has developed a mechanically consistent material library for the analysis of reinforced concrete shell elements. In close collaboration with the team of Prof. Walter Kaufmann his work will reinforce the development of computational structural analysis and its implementation in tools for COMPAS.
