Wenqian obtained an M.Arch degree with distinction at the Bartlett with the thesis project Soft Core exploring malleable, material-behavior-based design and application. After that she pursued the MAS Digital Fabrication program at ETH Zurich with a focus on robotic fabrication, during which she was part of the design and fabrication team of two large-scale pavilions: Up Sticks for the V&A museum Dundee, UK and Concrete Choreography for Origen Festival Switzerland. Her thesis project Design Freedom in Eggshell contributes to the smart dynamic casting research topic at ETH. Wenqian also worked in Block Research Group ETH as research assistant and participated in the development of RhinoVault2 and COMPAS Skeleton.
