Alumni
Gene is a designer, researcher and programmer who specialises computational design, digital fabrication in architecture and visual computing in computer science.
He completed his PhD in 2023 from the Institute of Technology in Architecture at ETH Zurich, within the Block Research Group and NCCR Digital Fabrication, supervised by Prof. Philippe Block and co-supervised by Prof. Stelian Coros. Gene is now a R&D Engineer at Ansys, within the Meshing Development Unit (MDU), where he focuses on 3D computational geometry processing.
Work Topic
This research presents a computational framework for discretised shell structures that can be constructed with minimal formwork.
