Alumni
Ioanna Mitropoulou received her Master of Architecture from the National Technical University of Athens in 2017. While pursuing her masters, she became acquainted with computational design tools and further studied at IAAC, Barcelona, where she completed the Fab Academy educational program. Her professional experience includes work at ESRI R&D Zurich as part of the XR team where she focused on procedural urban design in the context of the novel opportunities offered by Virtual Reality for designing and communicating urban scale proposals. In 2019 she joined the MAS DFAB studies programme at ETH Zurich, and continued on to a PhD within DBT. completing her dissertation on Nonplanar 3D Printing of Bifurcating Forms in 2024.
Work Topic
Her current research focuses on developing a digital workflow for the design of non-planar print paths for advanced robotic additive manufacturing processes.
