Alumni
Anh Chi Nguyen studied structural engineering at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and at Delft University of Technology. She gratuated with a M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 2015. She first worked as a project engineer at the Bureau Greisch, before joining the NCCR Digital Fabrication as a PhD researcher at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne(EPFL) under the direction of Prof. Dr. Yves Weinand (iBois)in 2016. Her research work focuses on the structural analysis of freeform timber plates structures using wood-wood connections.
Work Topic
A design methodology is developed for the structural analysis of freeform timber plate structures assembled with wood-wood connections. It is applied to a specific case study, namely the Annen Plus SA head office project in Manternach, Luxembourg, which consists of a series of double-layered double-curved timber plate shells.
