Valens was a scientific assistant in the Geosensors and Engineering Geodesy (GSEG) group at the Institute of Geodesy and Photogrammetry (IGP). In 2019, he joined the NCCR Digital Fabrication as a doctoral researcher, focusing on industrial metrology and machine vision for in-line 3D shape determination and quality assessment of robotically fabricated structural elements. During this time, he co-founded the Future of Construction symposium series with colleagues from architecture and robotics research.
