Yoana is currently an Architect / Technologist at ICON, a 3D printing company based in Austin, Texas. ICON’s mission is to re-imagine the approach to homebuilding and construction to make affordable, dignified housing available to everyone throughout the world. With the use of proprietary 3D printing robotics, software and advanced materials, ICON is shifting the paradigm of homebuilding on Earth and beyond.
Prior to ICON, Yoana was a Resident at the Autodesk Technology Center in Boston where she focused on designing and fabricating a 3D-printed composite façade element. She also worked as a Scientific Assistant at Digital Building Technologies, at ETH Zurich where she assisted in the development of the ongoing concrete 3D-printing research.
Work Topic
Yoana worked as Architectural Associate at Flad Architects for several years where she collaborated on large-scale, technical buildings like hospitals, laboratories, and academic campuses. Yoana obtained a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University, and a Master of Advanced Studies in Architecture and Digital Fabrication from ETH, Zurich.
