Marirena Kladeftira

Marirena Kladeftira is an architect with a strong interest in novel approaches to design based on digital fabrication. She is a PhD researcher at the chair of Digital Building Technologies, where she researches additive joints for spatial lightweight structures. She holds a diploma of Architectural Engineering from NTU Athens and a Masters in Advanced Studies in Architecture and Digital Fabrication from ETH Zurich. Before joining ETH she was a visiting researcher at the Transformable Intelligent Environments Lab at TUC.

Work Topic

Investigations in additively manufactured metallic alloys for the fabrication of bespoke, integrative metal connections for spatial structures. The complexity and increased logistics of customisation of spatial structures are minimised and encapsulated in smart, 3DP connectors, providing freedom in design.
