Alumni
Christophe Girot was Professor of Landscape Architecture at ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He joined the NCCR DFAB as Principal Investigator in 2017 and retired in January 2023. Christophe Girot continues as Professor Emeriti at ETH and maintains his practice in Zurich with projects both in Europe and Asia. In his research he addressed topological methods in landscape architecture, new media in landscape analysis and perception, and the history and theory of landscape architecture. Girot received a double master’s degree of architecture and landscape architecture from the University of California Berkeley and a bachelor’s degree in environmental planning from the University of California Davis. Before coming to ETHZ he was Professor for Landscape Architecture at the Versailles School of Landscape Architecture in France from 1990 to 2000.
