Since 2023, Dr. Jaime Mata-Falcón is Assistant Professor in the School of Civil Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de València.
Previous to his appointment, Jaime was senior assistant at the Chair of Concrete Structures and Bridge Design of ETH Zurich, where he joined as a postdoctoral researcher in 2015. In April 2016, Jaime Mata-Falcón joined the NCCR Digital Fabrication to address the structural integrity of the reinforced concrete technologies.
Jaime has developed a specialisation in concrete engineering and analysis. He has worked as a structural engineer after completing his master’s degree in civil engineering in 2009. His dissertation work on the crack behaviour of dapped-end concrete beams was completed at the Polytechnic University of Valencia in 2015.

Work Topic

Jaime role within the NCCR was to advise on projects dealign with concrete and structural integrity. His expertise assisted researchers to i) fulfil building code requirements, ii) validate technologies by experimental testing and iii) identify potentials for demonstrators and technology transfer.
